getting your
own chuck
wagon, Kenny builds them...

__________

From a chuck wagon called Rafter G, chuck wagon cook Kenny Gordon
and his team prepare meals very much like the cowboys of the cattle drive era ate.

They prefer to cook over the open fire and specialize in roast beef or brisket, pinto beans seasoned with ham hocks, corn bread or biscuits, cabbage cold slaw, peach or apple cobbler or but are willing to cook about anything you can get to the fire as long as its legal.

Kenny has cooked in seven states for cowboy gatherings, cattle drives, roundups, historical events, trail rides and private gatherings.

Surprised at how many  people seem interested in his cowboy cookin’, Kenny said: “It’s just my way to help keep an old tradition alive.”

Traveling with Kenny these days is Donny May. Donny hails from Neosho, MO, where he raises cattle.

Donny fills the boots of the cook's helper, sometimes referred to as “Little Mary,” but if he has sunglasses on, his long white beard causes some to ask, “Where are you playing tonight, Zee Zee.”
